A sleepover that lets you wake up to roaring lions and other exotic animals is back for summer 2021.
Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s Roar and Snore allows you to camp overnight near big cats, giraffes and other incredible beasts. It’s about as close as you can get to a proper safari without leaving the country.
The Roar and Snore campsite at the park near Doncaster reopens on July 16 and runs until the start of September.
Your ticket includes a pitch for two small tents (or a large one) and your car, tickets to the Sunset Safari and exclusive evening access to the Masai Pizzeria, next to the giraffe enclosure. There’s more information on the Yorkshire Wildlife Park website.
Park campsite manager Matt Zaremba said: “Our Roar and Snore campsites really do take camping to a completely new and cool level.

“Visitors will be spending the night within earshot of some of the most amazing animals and hearing the incredible calls of the park’s exotic inhabitants.
“It’s a staycation to remember and with the current restrictions and government guidance, we have taken every step to ensure that it is Covid safe and sure to be great fun for all the family.
“There seems to be a huge demand – we started getting bookings before we had officially launched.”
Also back for summer 2021 is the Sunset Safari which allows you to see all the animals as the evening draws in.
Matt added: “It has been a tough year for everyone but there is hope that we are emerging from the worst of the pandemic.

“People will not be able to take summer holidays abroad as normal but, thankfully, we are always here to offer fantastic experiences through the summer.
“We look forward to welcoming new guests and familiar faces to the park throughout the summer.”
