Earlier this year, New Balance unveiled a new silhouette known as the New Balance 57/40. The model is essentially an update of the notoriously classic 574 model. For more than three decades, the 574 has been one of the industry’s most revered sneakers and is one of the brands most iconic silhouettes.
Reinterpreted with an 80’s-meets-90’s aesthetic, the 57/40 is a retro, fashion-forward silhouette that is modern but remains classic to New Balance. New features like the enlarged N logo and the reimaged CR device, contribute to the contemporary attributes of the new silhouette. This new colorway of the model comes dressed in a mixed material upper consisting of a burgundy perforated leather and suede on the toe box and collars, respectively. Other features include large tan “N” that’s surrounded by the sport blue and white hues. Hits of navy take care of the leather eyestays and collar, while Sail suede appears on the heel and black leather on the tongue. Double-stacked EVA foam midsoles and rubber outsoles complete the look.
Look for this new colorway of the New Balance 57/40 to release on March 13 via New Balance Japan for approximately $152. No word yet if these will arrive stateside.
