Priyanka Chopra Jonas is one of the most well-dressed celebrities in the world. Whether it’s winning the Miss World crown or appearing for red-carpet events, she has always impressed us with her sartorial choices. However, behind those beautiful dresses, there are stories of discomfort and a near-wardrobe malfunction.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s had a near-wardrobe malfunction at Miss World 2000
If you’re a 90’s kid, you probably remember the moment ‘Miss India’ Priyanka Chopra was crowned ‘Miss World’. While people looked poised and graceful on the stage, she was driving all her efforts towards holding her dress up. In an interview with People magazine, she said, “In the year 2000, I won Miss World and my dress was taped on to me. By the time I won at the end, I was stressing so much because it was so stressful that the entire tape came off. And the whole time I was doing my walk, I kept my hands like this in a ‘namaste’. People thought it was a namaste but it was actually holding my dress up.” Who would have thought, right?
In the video, PC and her mother are remembering the turning point in the actor’s life. PC captioned the video with, “Picture this… I just turned 18 and won Miss World!! When I finally reunited with my parents among all the chaos on stage, the first thing my mom said to me was “babe, what’s going to happen with your studies?”. Well, Mrs. Madhu Chopra is a true Indian mom!
PC couldn’t breathe in her MET Gala 2018 gown
In May 2018, PC walked down the MET Gala red carpet in a velvet Ralph Lauren gown. The stunning maroon gown was accompanied by a gold beaded hood, which made PC look no less than a goddess. Although she looked as confident as ever, she wasn’t having the best time in that outfit. Reminiscing that moment, PC told People magazine, “It was this blood red, Ralph Lauren, beautiful outfits with a gold hood. But the corset under that thing, I couldn’t breathe! I felt like it reshaped my ribs. So hard to sit during dinner. Obviously I couldn’t eat much that night.”
Well, suffice to say, PC is great at hiding her discomfort while attending red carpet events. No wonder, she’s one of the most confident celebrities out there!
