Clubs across the Premier League are patiently waiting until January before continuing their recruitment drives.
Having appointed Erik ten Hag as their manager this summer, Manchester United sanctioned moves for six players including Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Antony and Martin Dubravka, who joined on a season-long loan from Newcastle. It marked an impressive window for the club.
However, they did miss out on priority target Frenkie de Jong after publicly chasing the Barcelona playmaker. Amid contractual issues, though, he opted to stay put at the Nou Camp for at least another few months. Ten Hag nurtured De Jong during their time together at Ajax and the 25-year-old could be revisited as an option for United moving forward.
On the pitch, United are preparing to take on Omonia in the Europa League on Thursday night in Nicosia, Cyprus.
TODAY’S BIG TALKING POINT. Five players should fear drop. Have your say here.
