Kylie Jenner has never been shy about her love of all things Y2K, but her latest look takes all the brilliance of millennial fashion to the next level.
Over the weekend, the 23-year-old shared a picture of herself crouching down in a black and kelly green look that could have easily come straight from the 2003 VMAs red carpet. It was the perfect covered-up look to say “hello fall” in.
Charlotte Knowles, the young purveyor of It-girl cool, is behind this latest look from Kylie. The shearling jacket, which you’ll notice is much like the version Villanelle wore in the last series of Killing Eve, comes from the London-based designer’s autumn/winter 2020 collection. But the sheer print top and matching bootleg cut trousers are from the spring/summer 2019 edit. Pulling from various collections to create a new look is one way to illustrate how much of a label devotee you are.
The ’00s-era styling didn’t end with the green and black garb. Kylie elevated her look by wearing extra-long blonde locks with a pair of clear-lensed sunglasses and pointy Alexander Wang shoes. The pièce de résistance, however, was an original Christian Dior Gambler Dice Boston Bag. This ’00s item continues to be one of the most covetable collectables from John Galliano’s era at the helm of the Parisian house. Versions don’t come more in-demand than Kylie’s classic black style.
Silhouette is often the best place to start for those looking to embrace this 2020 take on ’00s fashion. For Kylie-inspired millennium style, that means looking for flared trousers, pointy heels and a bowling-shape bag.
