If you grew up in the early 2000s you would remember that Paris Hilton and her BFF Nicole Richie were the most popular girls on the block. With singer Lionel Richie as her father, Nicole was no stranger to the spotlight. It only catapulted further when she teamed up with her then best friend and heiress Paris Hilton to star in the popular reality show ‘The Simple Life’. Both the girls were equally entertaining with their over the top shenanigans as rich girls who traded everything to live a simple life in a small town away from all the glitz and glamour they have been accustomed to all their life.
Nicole Richie quickly became a crowd favorite with her dark, slapstick humor.
At the peak of her fame, which was early to mid-2000s, she was a complete party-girl. You could spot her at every hip and happening club having a time of her life with Paris her friends. Unfortunately, the two friends had a huge fallout. Although both of them never revealed the cause of their fallout, there were many rumors doing rounds about why the two best friends stopped speaking to each other.
One such rumor according to the grapevine is that Nicole was upset because Paris didn’t invite her when she was invited to host ‘Saturday Night Live’. So an upset Nicole screened a private video of Paris at a party. Just like their friendship, their popular reality show too came to a screeching halt.
Following which Nicole battled drug addiction and recovered from it as well. Then went on to marry ‘Good Charlotte’ lead vocalist Joel Madden and started a family. During this time, Nicole had completely disappeared from the gaze of media and focused on building her successful fashion empire. She made brief appearances as a guest star on talk shows and fashion shows.
Finally, after a long hiatus, Nicole appears to be ready to get back in front of the cameras again. But this time around, not as a party girl but as Nikki Fre$h, her rap loving alter-ego. Nikki reportedly loves 90s hip-hop music and decided to merge her love for rap music with her passion that she cultivated during her time away from spotlight- sustainability. You can get a peek of Nicole’s interest in sustainability on her social media posts about veganism, organic farming, promoting zero plastic usage, etc.
So on her upcoming show with Quibi, Nicole will be channeling her alter ego Nikki Fre$h and rap about sustainability. In one of her Instagram posts promoting the show, Nicole wrote, “Ready to dance your ass off to music about organic fruits, vegetables, chickens & bees? Because i am. @quibi #NikkiFresh 🎤🌽🥦🐓🐝🍒…. 🍸?”
Well, we certainly are ready to see this very interesting side of Nicole. Nicole certainly has transformed herself from a socialite to a socially conscious individual who has created her own genre of trap music called ‘parent trap’.
You can catch Nikki Fre$h’s ‘parent trap’ music upon Quibi’s launch on April 6.
