India COVID-19 LIVE: The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.47%
India recorded a total of 20,279 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s overall Covid tally to 4,38,88,755. The active cases increased to 1,52,200, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
The death count climbed to 5,26,033 with 36 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.35 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.45 per cent, the ministry said.

As many as 134 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Maharashtra’s Thane district, taking its infection count to 7,33,483, a health official said on Monday.
With the addition of the latest cases on Sunday, the district currently has 896 active COVID-19 cases, he said.
No death was reported on Sunday and the COVID-19 fatality toll stood at 11,925, he said, adding that the recovery count has reached 7,22,952.
Arunachal Pradesh’s COVID-19 tally rose to 65,313 as 82 more people tested positive for the infection, the highest single-day spike this month, a senior health official said.
The northeastern state’s coronavirus death toll remained unchanged at 296 as no fresh fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
Arunachal Pradesh, which remained COVID-free for the last couple of months, has been witnessing a surge in fresh cases since July 1, much like some other parts of the country, the SSO said.
Punjab’s COVID-19 tally stands at 7,70,654 with 419 fresh cases, according to a medical bulletin.
The death toll reached 20,367 as four fatalities were reported from Faridkot (1), Jalandhar (2) and Patiala (1), the bulletin said.
Of the fresh cases, 75 were reported from Jalandhar, 59 from Ludhiana and 57 from Mohali, the bulletin said.
The active case count stands at 2,596 in Punjab.
