BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The Broome County Health Department held their first coronavirus vaccine clinic today, allowing those in Tier 1A to get vaccinated.
Among them was Public Health Nurse Marian Hollander. She says the vaccine is a step in the right direction in the fight against the crippling virus. “I’m not going to have to worry about giving the virus to anybody in a little while. It just takes that worry away,” she said.
County health departments started receiving their vaccines this week, giving them the ability to set up clinics.
Broome County Executive Jason Garnar said Thursday once the vaccine is readily available to the general public, the county expects to be able to vaccinate hundreds or more people per day, adding they are already preparing to do so.
Hollander says the only side-effect she felt after receiving the vaccine was relief.
