The humble scrunchie has been a failsafe accessory for women for generations and we have picked our favourites for you to shop this summer.
Created back in 1987 by Rommy Revson, the scrunchie was designed to be a gentler version to replace metal hair ties and harsh elastic bobbles and was named after Rommy’s pet poodle, Scunci.
Over 30 years later they have made a huge comeback and this handy hair-tie can now be found everywhere from high street favourite M&S and H&M to Liberty and beloved Danish label GANNI.
Not sure how to style yours? Wrap it around your wrist in a shade that coordinates with your outfit or opt for a knotted style to pair with a romantic puff-sleeve dress (or check out how influencers wear theirs on Instagram for more inspiration).
Whether you’re looking for the perfect accessory for a wedding outfit this summer, want to add a little interest to your ponytail for dinner with friends or just need something comfortable to get your hair out of your face while you’re up-cycling at home, we’ve rounded up some of the best scrunchies on the market, transforming your hair into something a little more playful and cool.
From super luxe silk versions, to ones made from recycled plastics to ones with ribbon detailing, there’s something to suit every style and budget.
